UFO's

Morning! Well I haven't blogged for ages it seems! I can't believe how time is flying by and we are already in the middle of August! How did that happen?

I'm behind on my projects:

I've decided I didn't like this monochrome text as a background.

The owl house Moses basket quilt I'm making is coming along - I've made all 4 owl houses, but have done a u-turn on the back ground fabric! I was using black and white newspaper print but have decided it was too busy and not particularly baby friendly print; so I'm using aqua polka dots on whit now. I've got exactly 4 weeks until my due date to finish this! I've got some lovely soft fleece for the back; which I've never quilted with, so it'll be interesting! No sure what to bind it with yet..,?

The And Sew We Craft QAL July block is still in scrap form: aka I haven't even started it yet! Let alone started the August one! Will thee be time???

After just being spray basted yesterday.

The wedding present quilt (which started this whole blog off!) is finally taking shape- however it has changed slightly since I began! It's a bed runner now (to lie across the bottom of a double bed) and has turned accidentally into a patchwork piece! I love these fabrics though and think the pops of yellow look fab in this design. I've started Quilting it too!! Yippee! I think they just take on a whole different feel once you've basted the layers together and started quilting! So comfy and luxurious all of a sudden! Yummy! I'm trying a completely unique quilting design that I have tried before; quilting the names and wedding date across it in a dark grey and am planning on quilting the rest in a lighter thread- will this work?? Watch this space!!

It's amazing how much time you can spend thinking/ worrying about a quilt and not actually doing anything! I think I am getting better at decision making, but this project is an example of procrastination big time! I'm a little bit disappointed that I have changed the design to make it simpler, but am hoping the quilting on it will make up for it!

Happy UFOing!
